Kathleen McIntyre
Director


Ms. McIntyre came to Achieve with educational experience in school, non-profit, and business settings. As Achieve’s Director, she is responsible for all operational aspects of the program, including educational services, personnel recruitment and management, and marketing.

After graduating from SUNY at Buffalo with a BA in anthropology and political science, Ms. McIntyre volunteered for AmeriCorps and later worked as a senior case manager for the Big Brother Big Sister Program of Erie County. She moved to Washington D.C. to become a special education teacher, where she received her teaching certification and commenced her MA in teaching at Trinity University. Moving back to Buffalo, Ms. McIntyre became the director of SES operations for the Princeton Review. She has also been an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and the Special Olympics.


Keith Weller Frome
Founder


Dr. Keith Weller Frome is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School and Columbia University’s Teachers College. For nine years he was the headmaster of the Elmwood Franklin School in Buffalo, New York. He is the creator of the College Summit Writing curriculum, which has helped 10,000 urban high school students gain admission to college. Keith is a contributing editor to Trafficeast Magazine. He has published three books, including the award-winning What Not to Expect: A Meditation on the Spirituality of Parenting (Crossroad Publishing, 2005) which was named the best book of 2006 on family life and spirituality by the Catholic Press Association. His fourth book, How's My Kid Doing?: 101 Questions And Answers About Schooling And Education, will be published in 2007. Keith has served on the boards of the King Urban Life Center Charter School, The Children’s Guild, and Buffalo Prep. He is currently a member of the United Way of Buffalo board. Keith earned a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Connecticut and a doctorate in education from Columbia University. He received a master’s degree in theology and his permanent teacher certification for high school English from Harvard University.
